An organic fertiliser supplying 12% to 14% of nitrogen. It produces similar conditions to that of Dried Blood, however, it is slower releasing, taking up to 3-months depending upon the fineness of the material. The coarser material degrades more slowly than the finely ground material. It is typically used as a mixture with dried blood, and other fertilisers. It has been shown to improve drought resistance in turfgrasses. Hoof and Horn Meal is a good complement in a mixture with Dried Blood because the latter is much quicker at releasing its nitrogen and therefore a mixture of these two fertilisers provides for a good complement of release rates.
