This relates to the Basic Principles of Greenkeeping and involves the minimal use of fertiliser and water in the maintenance of a golf or bowling green. This concept also includes ensuring that the height of cut on a mower is not routinely set below the traditional 3/16inch (5mm), unless for exceptional circumstances such as for an elite tournament, and only then for a short period of time.
