Accident

An event that results in injury or ill health.

If an accident results in a reportable injury under RIDDOR then it must be reported; if it isn’t classified as reportable then a record kept within a work based accident book would usually be sufficient for recording purposes.

RIDDOR also interprets in Regulation 2 (1) an accident as including "an act of non-consensual physical violence done to a person at work".
