A neonicotinoid systemic insecticide that was previously used to control chafer grubs and leatherjackets, although it is no longer approved for such use. The pesticide was classed as being of high risk to bees and this, along with potential negative impact on other pollinating insects, led to its ban, losing its approval for use in 2016.
