Personal Development

Improving skills which are of use to an individual in their daily lives, both domestically and in the workplace.
These can be considered soft skills which help an individual function, getting the most form general routines and activities and help with interacting with others. One particular focus on personal development is identifying non-technical, often general, skills which can be of use both within and outside of a workplace, often aiming to improve the quality of life for an individual.
Some principles for personal development can include:
• Identify what you are interested in or would like to be interested in.
• Identify any areas where you think learning more about would significantly improve your situation.
• Are there any areas you consider you think you might develop which are currently outside of your comfort zone?
• Be responsible for your own development. No one is going to do it for you.
• Define the goal to be achieved.
• Plan how you are going to achieve your goal and set a timescale to aim for.
• Make sure it is realistic within the constraints of your life.
• Identify what help you may need for your personal development.
• Consider how you are going to judge if you have succeeded in your goal.
• Think about the future as well as the here and now.
