The process of continued studying of a subject or practice even when it is well-known or well-practiced by an individual.

This process can make recall more intuitive and responsive and quicker.

Overlearning involves actively planning the revisiting of material or a practice on a regular and routine basis. An individual might decide to have a certain area of knowledge or working practice that is overlearned as part of their continuous lifelong learning process, to especially reinforce their expertise in an area.

Occasional revisiting of previously learnt material to help refresh memory recall is a less intensive activity than that of overlearning, but would typically from a larger part of the overall process of revision of prior knowledge or practices.
