An approach to learning whereby a learner selects relevant information which they find suits their needs.

A limitation of this approach is that a learner may not know what they actually want or need to develop their learning.

This type of approach can be taken for face-to-face training courses, but must be delivered by an experienced, knowledgeable and confident trainer.

The trainer will typically provide a general overview of the course and this is then developed from the desires of the learners.

Attendees will see an increase in engagement and collaboration with other course attendees, provide for a more constructive interactive discussion, it allows for exploration, and also the practicing of physical activities.

The trainer is the facilitator from which the attendees pull the necessary requirements for learning to take place. See also Push Learning.
