Parkinson's Law

A work task can end up using all the available time allowed for its completion. People will often string out a task if they found they were going to complete it much quicker than the time they had been allocated to complete it.
If informed time scales are not provided for tasks, then they can end up taking a lot longer than what might objectively be expected. This leads to inefficient use of available time and reduced productivity, and profitability.
Using better informed time blocking as well as prioritising with time management techniques can significantly reduce the likelihood of Parkinson’s Law creeping into daily workload schedules.
