Organisational Goals

These are often strategic senior management objectives. They will define the, often SMART, longer term outcomes, needed for measuring the success of the organisation, as well as providing the vision for its direction of travel.
Related to the strategic organisational goals will be a range of operational goals which will provide short-term and medium-term measurable objectives. These help to determine trends in organisational effectiveness and efficiency, as well as ongoing profitability (or deficit), enabling a proactive approach to management decision making.
Having well defined and insightful organisational goals helps to improve the likelihood of recruiting and retaining staff with the relevant skills and knowledge needed to deliver successful outcomes. It is more likely that products and services will also be more aligned to meeting what customers need and want, helping with continued innovation and sustaining the longevity of the organisation.
Examples of organisational goals might include the following:
1. Improve the cost-effectiveness of pitch provision by 10% within 24 months, ensuring that playing quality measures are maintained throughout.
2. Improve employee engagement and upskilling 75% of employees. This is to be achieved by increasing enrolments on short term training courses within the next 12-months, and by successful achievement of course outcomes.
3. Add a minimum of 4 new products to the portfolio over the next 12-months.
4. Improve customer satisfaction by a minimum of an additional 10 percentage points over the next 12-months.
5. Increase net profit margins by 10%, year on year, over the next 3-years.
6. Increase revenue growth by 15%, year on year, over the next 2-years.
7. Reduce the quantity of waste generated and carbon dioxide emissions by at least 50% over the next 3 years.
8. Reduce the quantity of pesticides used by at least 90% over the next 3-years.
9. Improve the progress to organisational sustainability by increasing overall sustainability rating to at least 70%, with no individual criterion being below a rating of 40%.
10. Improve employee satisfaction ratings to a minimum, organisation wide, aggregated value of 85%.
