Hard Porous Pitch Maintenance: 09. Luting

Luting the entire surface might have been carried out on a weekly to twice a week basis, whilst hand tool remedial work would typically have been carried out daily.
With the daily safety inspections and work, the time allocation for a full-sized surface might have been for 2-hours of maintenance input per day, where routine usage and wear had occurred, but timings would clearly vary to meet local needs.
When using a powered unit to brush, dragmat or lute a surface the direction of work would mostly have been from end-to-end to start with, and then from side-to-side to finish off.
For a dedicated tennis court, the work involved per day might have been about 1-hour, which would also have included sweeping the line markings free of hard porous particles.
