6.2 Turf problems and controls

9   White Clover (Trifolium repens)

A low growing weed, with small oval leaves in sets of three. The leaves will typically have a white V shape present. It spreads by surface runners and has mostly white globular flowers. It has a preference for drier soils and those that they are not very acidic.

10   Yarrow (Achillea millefolium)

A difficult weed to control because it has feathery type leaves that are also leathery, and it spreads by underground runners (called rhizomes). It has a preference for drier soils and those that they are not very acidic.

It is good practice to regularly review weed identifications as it becomes quite easy to start to forget being able to put a name to a weed over time.
