Centrifugal Spreader

A distributor for fertiliser or seed that is loaded into a hopper and in which the product is spread by means of a disc which revolves, horizontally, around a central point. It is more commonly referred to as a spinning disc or broadcast spreader.
Chairperson

An individual who is in charge of a meeting. They will aim to ensure the meeting runs smoothly, without undue delays and interruptions from participants, maintaining order, aiding discussions, and ensuring the timeliness of the meeting. An important role of a chairperson can be when decisions have to be made, yet agreement amongst participants is difficult to achieve. Aiming to facilitate a compromise agreement which satisfies the majority can be a challenge for a chairperson, so someone having suitable influencing and persuading skills are important criteria for such a person.
Characteristic

A noticeable or particular feature which can help contribute to the description and identification of something. Turfgrasses have a range of characteristics, such as ligule size, type, shape or auricle, etc. which can be used to accurately identify a grass plant. Performance standards are characteristics with associated values or parameters which can be used to identify the condition and overall quality of a turfgrass surface.

A time management technique which involves the breaking up of large tasks, especially project work, into smaller elements.

1. The long-term weather conditions which are averaged over a 30-year period.
2. Soil formation is significantly influenced by climate. Higher rainfall and warmer temperatures will increase the rate of soil formation when compared with drier, colder conditions.

1. A small area, typically coloured white, which is located where the leaf blade meets the leaf sheath.
2. A perimeter strip of turf, typically the width of a mower unit (pedestrian or ride-on), immediately outside of the golf green.
