To cut the grass sward to keep it tidy and at a suitable height.

For many grassroot pitches the use of a rotary mower will produce quite satisfactory results.

The use of cylinder mowers will usually be for higher quality pitches, whilst autonomous robot mowers might also be used where staff resources are limited.
