3.5.1 Module summary
1 We have identified a wide range of maintenance activities that can be used to look after a football pitch. This has provided a key foundation stone for understanding the extent of work involved in groundskeeping.
2 At least one reason why a particular maintenance activity is needed in looking after a pitch has also been identified. This additional piece of information helps a groundskeeper understand why the activity might be included within their annual maintenance schedule.
3 By listing out and then providing a general statement for the 20 activities involved in looking after a pitch has also helped to provide a solid foundation for further explanations in Module 5 but also an ideal head start for creating an annual maintenance plan, which is covered in Module 8.
