5.2.3 Applying fertiliser / biostimulants / soil conditioners / wetting agents

Inadequate inputs of fertiliser will typically contribute to which one of the following?

The pitch would wear out more quickly, with a relatively thin sward, uneven plant coverage and poor colour.

Plant health would not be as resilient as it could be, with an increase in weed infestation, disease attack, and reduced ability to recovery from any wear. Games might be cancelled if surface conditions were unsuitable.

Without the use of wetting agents dry spots may become more persistent, negatively affecting growth and development.
