1   We have looked at how maintenance activities might influence a performance standard. This approach could then be applied to all performance standards to help improve grounds management practices.

2   We have also carried out a worked example of estimating the influence 19 maintenance activities might have on ground cover.

3   The suggestions were analysed to provide an indication of the relative impact the activities might have on a football pitch. This approach could also allow for prioritising certain maintenance activities over others.

This could be especially valuable where resources are very limited.
