What is used?

Mower: Tractor operated; Ride-on: typically, with 1 to 3 mowing units / decks; Pedestrian; Autonomous robot. Cylinder or rotary being the commonest two cutting mechanisms.

Fuel for power unit: Petrol, diesel, electric battery power.

There are many reasons to mow a football pitch. Which one of the following reasons is the most significant?

1. To keep the grass height within a suitable range for the desired pitch quality.
2. To encourage a dense sward, providing good ground cover.
3. To encourage a deeper rooting system.
4. To improve consistency of ball roll and ball speed, as well as player-surface grip/traction.
