To put chemicals onto the pitch to reduce and control undesirable organisms.

These will typically be applied using either a large spray tank with a boom sprayer, especially on multi-pitch sites.

Alternatively, a pedestrian operated walk behind sprayer, or knapsack sprayer might also be used, especially if only localised areas are being treated.
